The home provides accommodation and care for older people including those with dementia; the staff team is skilled in this specialist care. The friendly and homely atmosphere at Clemsfold House ensures that service users are able to continue their lifestyle with personal privacy and dignity. The home has been tastefully decorated with reminiscence areas and good signposts.
Our aim is to provide a care home that offers a safe, comfortable environment with support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
The home provides 31 places for service users with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. The spacious house has been tastefully extended to provide single or shared rooms some with en-suite bathroom facilities. A lift serves all floors and there are two fine lounges and a dining room with views of the gardens. The pleasant grounds are ideal for walking or sitting and feature a lake which is home to a large variety of water birds.

We provide care 24 hours a day with experienced care staff under the personal supervision of the Registered Home Manager. Local GPs visit the home regularly and are on call at all times. Clemsfold House support families visiting and welcome any feedback given.
Sussex Health Care retain the services of a range of therapists - physiotherapy, occupational therapy and reflexology are available on request. Experts are available to advise on any aspect of a service users care, recreational pursuits or environment.
The activities programme is one of the most important aspects of life at Clemsfold House. A huge range of activities are undertaken by the service users including handicrafts, quizzes, reminiscence sessions, music and movement, cookery and art therapy. The key aims of the programme are the provision of mental stimulation, continuation of hobbies and interests, and prolonging mobility.
Our experienced chef prepares interesting and homely cuisine with attention to individual requirements and any special diets. Mealtimes are important at Clemsfold House and great care is taken to ensure the meals are attractively presented and elegantly served.
All staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when joining Sussex Health Care. In addition a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain specialist knowledge of dementia and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training provided by the Sussex Health Care training team and QCF courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges. Sussex Health Care offer the QCF qualification in dementia care to all our staff.
