Two purpose-built homes based in Nutley, West Sussex, each catering for 10 young people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
Person-centred planning is at the forefront of our philosophy with the service users' needs and wishes at the centre of our service. This care home provides specialist nursing care and is equipped with the latest technological aids to provide a safe, comfortable, homely environment for our service users.
Our aim is to provide a care home with nursing that offers support and stimulation to help service users maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity within an individual person-centred plan. Service users have the right to live as normal a life as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
Wisteria Lodge and Stable Lodge are specialist care homes, each with 10 places for young people with learning and/or physical disabilities. They offer superb purpose-built facilities with track hoisting throughout. Each single room provides en-suite facilities. A spa pool is available to all service users along with sensory and physiotherapy rooms.

Specialist nursing care is available throughout the home 24 hours a day. The focus of care and support is based on our person-centred philosophy.
Sussex Health Care retain the services of a range of therapists including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and expert advice is available on any aspect of a service user's care, recreational pursuits or environment. Wisteria Lodge also offers a variety of complementary therapies including aromatherapy, reflexology, music and drama support.
Wisteria Lodge has the benefit of an Activity Organiser, who devises and carries out personalised activity plans, alongside the service user's key worker.
The many activities include alternative complementary therapies, dance and movement, music, arts and crafts, cooking, hydrotherapy, swimming and riding for the disabled.
Service users benefit from the use of their own specially adapted vehicles for outings and sporting activities.
Participation in further education and leisure activities at local colleges and outreach facilities are available to all service users. Every effort is made to enable service users to keep in touch with relatives and friends. Advocacy and volunteer befriending schemes are encouraged.
All staff undertake an induction programme of instruction when joining Sussex Health Care. In addition, a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills.
Extensive in-house training is provided by the Sussex Health Care training team and QCF courses are undertaken in conjunction with the local colleges.
The homes are close to the town of Uckfield in East Sussex with Eastbourne and Ashdown Forest in easy distance for activity days and always a popular destination.
