Dementia Care

Dementia care has come to the forefront of healthcare recently due to the increased age of the population, but at SHC we believe that people with dementia-related conditions should continue to live an active life.

At SHC, we can offer you support and peace of mind - we are committed to providing excellence in care for people with dementia, using a person-centred care approach and offering training in dementia care to all our staff.

Our staff are provided with on-going opportunities for learning and development to ensure that the care we provide is delivered from a good professional knowledgeable base. 24-hour nursing care is also available.

We respect all the people we support as individuals, taking the time to get to know them so we can personalise the way we care for them, and our homes are specifically tailored to ensure comfort and familiarity for those living with memory loss.

We also believe that every individual is a unique, special and deserving person, an ethos that can be found at the heart of all of our homes.

We have developed areas that assist people to remember days gone by with familiar items and memory boxes.

All of our homes have busy activity programmes including reminiscence sessions, handcrafts, cookery, and art therapy.
